FAQ: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Services

When it comes to maintaining your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van, the majority of your service needs will be covered by the alternating service intervals: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Service A and Service B. Adhering to these service intervals for your Sprinter Van can help minimize the need for repairs and keep your RV or van on the road for more days.

You’ll need to schedule Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Service A starting at one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. After the initial visit, 2009 model-year and newer Sprinter Vans will find their Service A intervals move to every 20,000 miles or two years.

Each time you bring your van in during these intervals, you’ll receive the following manufacturer-recommended services:

  • Replace: synthetic motor oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin air filter
  • Top-Off: fluid level inspections and corrections per factory suggested intervals based on your vehicle make, year, and model
  • Inspect: brake component inspection
  • Tires: Rotate tires, check for proper tire pressure and tire wear, including spare
  • Reset/Clear: Mercedes-Benz Assyst Plus Maintenance reminder

Mercedes-Benz Service B is performed at 15,000 miles. This service interval alternates with Mercedes-Benz Service A to ensure that a variety of important service requirements are met at once.

Each time you bring your van in during these intervals, you’ll receive the following manufacturer-recommended services:

Includes all Service “A”

  • Replace: synthetic motor oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin air filter
  • Top-Off: fluid level inspections and corrections per factory suggested intervals based on your vehicle make, year, and model
  • Inspect: brake component inspection
  • Tires: Rotate tires, check for proper tire pressure and tire wear, including spare
  • Reset/Clear: Mercedes-Benz Assyst Plus Maintenance reminder

PLUS:

  • Flush brake system and replace fluid
  • Replace rear differential gear oil
  • Replace transmission gear oil/transmission gear oil filter, pan gasket, and bolts
  • Replace front differential gear oil (4×4 Sprinters only)

When it comes to servicing your Sprinter van or RV, Mercedes-Benz Service A is performed before Service B. Additionally, the tasks included in Mercedes-Benz Service B are more comprehensive than those in Service A, and they involve a brake fluid change and cabin air filter change. Both service intervals are equally important for maintaining your Sprinter RV or Sprinter Van. For any further questions about Service A or Service B for your van, please contact the Grit Overland RV and Van Service Center.
